Standard Duty: 3 oz. filtration media - a common pool & spa industry weight [approx. 40 microns] used throughout the world.
Heavy Duty: 4 oz. filtration media - slightly heavier allowing for finer filtration [approx. 20 microns] and better water clarity.
Xtra Heavy Duty: 6 oz. filtration media - much heavier allowing for an even finer filtration [approx. 10-15 microns] and longer life.
Anti Microbial: Anti Microbial technology is built-in to the product during the manufacturing process and becomes an intrinsic part of the product inside and at the surface. When microbes, such as bacteria, mold, fungi and mildew that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration come in contact with the product surface, Microban protection penetrates the cell wall of the microbe and disrupts key cell functions so that the microbe cannot function, grow or reproduce.
Adapters: Some, but not all spa filters allow removal of the threaded spa pad adapter. This allows an option of only purchasing the filter cartridge without the repurchasing of the adapter itself.

CARTRIDGE/ FILTER FACTS:

All pool filter cartridges and/or spa filters use 100% Polyester [not paper] spunbonded filter media.

The End Caps are Anti Microbial - Anti Bacterial with a high resistance to cracking.

The Media/Pleats have the highest resistance to chlorine & bromine in the industry.

The Core is structured with "Free Flow Technology" allowing 20%-30% more efficient water flow throughout the whole of the filter pleats and not just through holes drilled into PVC. This also decreases wear & tear of your pool/spa pump.

Note: All pool and/or spa cartridge lifespans and water clarity are dependent upon owner's bather load, suntan oils, body oils, body waste, duration between cleanings, thoroughness of cleanings, proper chemical balances, weather, debris in pool/spa and a multitude of other items. You can prolong cartridge effectiveness and its lifespan simply with proper cleaning and maintaining a good chemical balance.
